Hip-Motor Foul-up #72

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
During our demo, the hip motor switched to ramming at 60A into the hard stop.

I suspect our hip encoder rolled over or something. This happened just after
some successful runs, and without any physical tampering of the hip motor or
cabling.

I have modified the code so that when the kernel module is loaded it calibrates
the hip based upon the assumption that it's up against the hard stop. If this
problem was caused by a calibration problem, the it should be fixed. Otherwise,
I'm not sure what would cause this behavior.

This problem seems to be fixed. We have been running the robot for a while and
haven't seen the problem return.
