Support the new notion of 'best' and not 'hot' being the default sort #618

Selecting 'hot' now merely shows 'best' and not actually 'hot' sort, and the default sort is still known as 'hot' instead of 'best'. The user should be able to actually use 'hot' sort.

I have a preliminary patch for this, but it likely needs work (and tests).
