403 on index.php with params (works w/out them) #98

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use the form to create a shortened URL
2. Click Submit

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect something good. Instead get "You don't have permission to access
/index.php on this server."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.4.2 Linux/Apache/PHP5

Please provide any additional information below.
Have the default install - everything works if I manually input data in MySQL
db. Just can't use the form to create the shortened URL. Have looked over
permissions, .htaccess, etc. Can't figure it out. Why can I hit index.php when
it's bare, but with "?" and params, it buggers out on a 403?

It's the "http://" prefix that messes things up. If I remove that from the text
input box, leaving the rest of the URL, then it works fine. So there's
something missing from the .htaccess file.

Good - nice to know I'm not on my own. I can't figure it out. I've been
researching .htaccess and it's not anything simple. Can't figure out why the
Phurl dev folks didn't hit this issue though?

Maybe … there using an earlier version of PHP? PS I am using a reseller
account with Hostgator.

it's hitting a mod_security rule, join their live chat and they can whitelist
the rule.

Hi,
You guys found some solution to this? I still have this problem. How did it
resolve?
