failed to access volume icon file (2) #211

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

I was able to open this specific FTP site once but everything in it had the red
access denied icon on
it. Now when ever I try to mount the server I get this error in the log:

Acmehosts: failed to access volume icon file (2)

and it won't mount. I can mount some other FTP sites just fine but not this
one. I can though
connect to it just fine through transmit or other FTP programs.

jtking:

1) Quit then re-launch MacFusion, maybe restart your computer, I suspect that
you won't see the issue again.

2) Can you describe any changes you made to your environment before the issue
occurred?

3) Please state versions of MacFUSE, MacFusion, Mac OS X etc.. Thanks.

At one point I, too, saw errors of the same type:

 ---- MacFusion Started 2007-06-18 21:02:25 +0100
MacFusion Core: MacFuse version 0.4.0 detected OK
MacFusion Core: Loaded EncFS filesystem from com.abruptcorrupt.MacFusion.EncFS
MacFusion Core: Loaded FTPFS filesystem from org.mgorbach.MacFusion.FTPFS
MacFusion Core: Loaded SSHFS filesystem from org.mgorbach.MacFusion.SSHFS
UoS-ITS-UNIX: failed to access volume icon file (2)
UoS-ITS-UNIX: Mount Failed
omnium-gjp22: failed to access volume icon file (2)
omnium-gjp22: Mount Failed
UoS-ITS-UNIX: failed to access volume icon file (2)
UoS-ITS-UNIX: Mount Failed
 ---- MacFusion Terminated 2007-06-18 21:34:48 +0100

Since then, the issue has not recurred.

omnium-gjp22 is an SSH service so the issue is not limited to FTP.

MacFusion issue 216 was a duplicate of this MacFusion issue 211.

I have been having this problem (I believe since I updated to Mac OS X 10.4.10,
although I cannot be sure)
consistently, no matter which version of MacFusion 1.2 I try (beta 2, r279, and
r281). However I believe I have
found a fix!! I simply removed all of the entries in my MacFusion Favorites and
then re-entered them... the result
is no more errors and everything appears to be working as expected.

Mac OS X 10.4.10
MacFUSE 0.40
FileVault enabled

Fixed in SVN rev 283.
Please verify.

The fix, for verification, should be present in
MacFusion nightly 20070704 revision 284
or later from
<http://code.google.com/p/macfusion/downloads/list>.
