I've tried -o defer_auth but no improvement.
Using -o ftpfs_debug=3 -d -v I get the attached.
I would much rather do FTP over SSH, what with the DMC4, M!l!tary Comm!ss!0ns
Act,
and "Pr0t3ct Am3r!ca" Act, et al... it's the N3w World 0rd3r nowadays. H4b3us
c0rpus
has been rescinded. Remember, what was OK yesterday, may not be tomorrow. SSL
is
too likely to have g0vt/c0rpor4te backdoors. SSH desired, for all uses.

Thanks for the report and log. I'll draw it to the attention of the CurlFtpFS
developer.

Since your last report, have you either
* downgraded to version 0.4.0 of MacFUSE
or
* upgraded to version 1.0.0 of MacFUSE?

I have left an instant message for the CurlFtpFS developer, no response yet,
hopefully he will receive it later.

Neither. I've just used a conventional FTP client, hoping that someday the
problems with
MacFusion would be fixed.

I know this is quite a old issue, but...
I am using Transmit4 FTP client, which also offers to mount remote FTP sites as
drives using MacFUSE. I can open
&save files in Transmit and it takes about 0.1 sec. If i do the same on the
mounted volume, it takes around 5-10
seconds. I know this is not really a MacFusion problem, but there is something
seriously wrong with the FTP write
speeds in MacFUSE.
