Minor fixes to 2.4.0 #34

Add ability to listen to a handle to the declaration. Use default generic parameter for async callback. Add prepublish step to ensure typescript definition is at least buildable. Make minor typo correction in JSDoc for flipTables.

This seems small enough to be a 2.4.1 style fix
