Sorry but I cannot reproduce the issue you are describing. I installed SoDaReloaded to test what I think you are describing but the theme works as expected even so my other packages.
I use:
I can not reproduce this behaviour. I installed the theme and all of my plugins are still functional.
I use:
could you please
Do you see errors in the Sublime Text console? (open by clicking on View -> Show Console
)
I am using PackageResourceViewer Extractor module to extract my packages. I dabble. After installing SoDaReloaded, over half of the packages installed at PackageControl.io are missing. Files are there in binary (py?) form, but cannot be extracted to Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Packages. Everything I need to customize, wiped out. No error logs, nothing. Since nothing else is apparent, assume the worst, connectivity. Few months ago, same thing with another app. German team bailed me out, citing connection packet loss as reason why software plugin failed. They recommended a VPN, which helps. But still having issues. No way to tell if your theme failed, since I don't know what it is supposed to look like. I am certain it is not supposed to cripple Sublime use of PackageControl.io.
macOS 10.12.5, ST 3126, web design and dev, paks disabled... CSS3, HTML Page Snippets, HTML Attributes, HTML Beautify, PRV, OverrideAudit, Project Manager, SideBar Enhancements, Can I Use, Search Stack Overflow. Bunch of other stuff there I never installed, Only plugin recognized still alive, Google Search (good old Google).
@anyotherway Can you try installing another theme and see if this works? Maybe it's an issue with PackageResourceViewer Extractor and themes?
It's not possible that the theme, after downloaded and installed successfully via package control, fails to work because of packet loss or connectivity issues because the theme just skins Sublime Text and has no dependencies to the internet. You can see what its supposed to look like here: https://github.com/Miw0/SoDaReloaded-Theme#design
I use Monokai and Soda Solarized Dark all the time. They are fun to dabble with. Some ST installs they run together for weeks with interesting effects.
Nope, does not ever look like https://github.com/Miw0/SoDaReloaded-Theme#design Icons are missing.
Miw0, you wrote 'the theme just skins Sublime Text' True. But if if all the skin somehow does not download, it can only use what is downloaded, wasting Sublime and not displaying properly, in this case. What weirded me out about the Swedish software, was that every download, the same packets were lost. According to the German team who just wrote a paper on it, repetitive packet loss is 'normal'. SoDaReloaded is not just spelled funny. It suffers 'normal' repetitive packet loss. Hmm.
Web designers define that issue as accidentally broken joy stick. Or crushed mouse, or...
Hi @anyotherway , I installed all the packages you specified on a fresh ST3 installation. I still cannot reproduce. All plugins and the theme are running.
I'm not really sure what you refer to when saying 'Swedish Software'.
Furthermore there should not be any packet loss, you are downloading SoDaReloaded from the same source you download all the other packages from. Have you tried explaining your issue to the Sublime Text Maintainers?
@anyotherway Okay you say icons are missing, so thats the issue you were talking about all the time?
I can not guarantee for your internet connection or packet loss at all. This issue may be better addressed to package control itself (https://github.com/wbond/package_control) or your internet service provider, I guess.
SoDaReloaded, as funny as it is, is not responsible for any type of data loss while installing. I'm sorry. Please make sure you are installing the theme via package control as described here: https://packagecontrol.io/docs/usage
Hmm. I cannot 'maintain' because it is not my theme. Catch 22.
Yes, I see you installed some packages... Did you open PackageResourceViewer" Cmd-Shift-P-prv.
?? It is so sweet that appropriate support always remembers to refresh the basics! Thanks for that.
Yeah, I extracted the theme with PRV now. All the packages are still active and there are no missing icons.
I recommend re-installing Sublime Text, Package Control and your installed packages. It works for my fresh install.
Miw0 "SoDaReloaded, as funny as it is, is not responsible for any type of data loss while installing. I'm sorry."
You are absolutely correct. I wrote an original post describing the actual human behavior and technology responsible, and that got banned.
theme fails to download and as a result when theme attempts to process, PackageResourceViewer gets scuttled.
Another consideration, this Mac SIPs. Old can could be plastered with shiny new Apple security updates. Is SoDaReloaded conducive to all the security this-and-that?
Re: 'All the packages are still active and there are no missing icons.'
Can you extract 'Color Scheme - Default'? That one was 'disappeared' by SR across an OS X reinstall and three Sublime installs.
I am concluding, given success here and there and failure here and there, that SR failure relates to repetitive package loss. Conclude whatever you like.
As I indicate in my banned post, engineers in more stable computing environments cand and will help you to isolate your RPL. Head in the sand if you like. Lovely warm and cozy down there, this time of year. Bye!
@anyotherway the theme just configures some colors and icons by using config files. There is no actual code. Unless your OS or Sublime Text itself is compromised, SoDaReloaded can and does not have any security implications whatsoever.
I successfully extracted Color Scheme - Default without any side effects. As I stated before, maybe it would be helpful just to reinstall the whole thing.
I am not sure how to help you since there are too many possible parameters and causes that could lead to your described behaviour. Could you maybe upload a screenshot or a video of how you reproduce it?
Re: 'reinstall the whole thing’
Three times lucky. We’ll leave it at that. Soda’s all the rage.
Do you have further questions or can I close this issue?
I see your theme is very popular. Will try again, some day. German study found that RPL’s can niche in hub installations and irritate the be-geezes out of everyone there for weeks, or even 3 months. That was in Western Europe. Pacific North West Coast of Nowhere here. LOL.
Close.

Okay, thank you for your feedback 🥇
When install SoDaReloaded, half of other plugins are there on disk, where they belong but no longer available in Sublime.
