  • What is the "average" odds of NHL games? Specifically moneylines.
  • What is the frequency of winning for each bin of odds compared to the expected frequency based on the odds?

• [ ] Questions about players

  • How do the per 60 statistics change when you compare a players first 10 games (low sample size) to their mid season games (higher sample size). If there is more variance in the low sample size, we may want to deal with this differently.
  • What variables are most correlated with number of goals scored? Include various rolling window values in this.
  • Is there a way to find obvious interactions between input variables?
  • Are there any dimension reduction techniques that summarize the data well? What does PCA represent as the first and 2nd PC's? What types of players?
  • Pick a good and bad player and see how they compare across all categories. McDavid v Bunting v Gudas. The results should make sense.
  • Pick a few players that moved teams in the off season. Does the team/lines they play on make a huge difference? Compare this to guys that did not move teams. Is the difference in differences significant?
  • Pick a few players that got traded mid season. Do the same thing.
  • Etc.
