The rules are too hard on editorials #14

No editorials have been found recently. I have no hard numbers but I suspect they score too low

I am waiting to see if the recent changes fix this.

This problem has improved

The problem still exists to some extent. For example, while the following results produce in op-ed on the same topic (the Israel Palestine conflict) the op-ed is on the border fence while the article is on governments moving embassies to Jerusalem.

Input:

Paraguay opens its Israel embassy in Jerusalem, second country to follow U.S. lead

Output:

Other sources for this story:

  1. Paraguay opens Israel embassy in Jerusalem (9)

Opinions:

  1. Memo to Israel: Lebanon is not Hezbollah, Gaza is not Hamas (2)

^(Note on opinions: due to sourcing and how articles are matched the opinions may not be terribly diverse.)

The following article though produces an output that is relevant because it has both "Pompeo" and "Iran" to work with

Input:

US will put 'unprecedented financial pressure' on Iran: Pompeo

Output:

Other sources for this story:

Opinions:

  1. Pompeo speech reveals no realistic plan to get a better Iran deal (3)

^(Note on opinions: due to sourcing and how articles are matched the opinions may not be terribly diverse.)

However when presented with this headline "Trump plans to declare that Iran nuclear deal is not in the national interest" the system would not necessarily find "It's not the Iran deal that's at risk. It's American credibility." (This might score a three if "deal" is identified)
