GPS License Check - General Enquiry - not a fault ? #138

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Not connected to Wi-Fi
2.Not connected to GSM Data
3.Select BTstacks GPS

I have just downloaded and installed the demo version 1.5 and it all seems to
work fine, great, super !

However, when I first select BTS GPS, it goes off to check the licence and if I
am not near a wifi hotspot, it reports "Registration Check Failed".

My iPhone is a 2G and I have data switched off.

Also I want to use it out in the country when I'm not near any hotspots !

If I purchase the license will it work if I am not near a hotspot, or does it
need to check the license every time you select BTS GPS ?

Please advise.

Regards, Dave Baker

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

hi. Until it gets licensed, BTstack GPS has to check with a server to find out
if it was purchased in the meantime. After ti gets purchased, the license
information will be stored on the device and be valid until the next update.

OK Thanks for the quick reply, that's good news, although when you say it will
remain valid until the next update, does that mean I will have to pay again at
each update, or just that it needs to reconfirm my original license ?

Thanks, Dave.

It will reconfirm the original license. Cydia purchases are bound to the Cydia
ID and are valid on all personal devices.
