BTstack Mouse: can't click certain pop-up/foreground windows #143

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem? (using 2 application examples)

Jump Desktop:
1. Connect to a remote session
2. Click the settings/option icon (wrench on the top toolbar)

Words with Friends:
1. Start a game
2. Place a misspelled/invalid word

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Both of these examples bring up a foreground/pop-up type window. They are
transparent; similar to the default SMS/Call notifications. You cannot close
or click on these menus. The cursor stays behind the window.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The current versions (as of 4/26/11) of btstack keyboard, btstack mouse, Jump
Desktop, and Words with Friends. I'm on a Verizon iPhone 4 running 4.2.6.

Please provide any additional information below.

I believe this happens with other windows as well, but these were the first two
that came to mind.

Thanks for reporting. A small note: the mouse pointer is independent from the
actual touch event. That the cursor is below the window is just a UI detail,
most likely caused by those apps using very high Z values for their pop up
windows.

Could you install Veency and then disable the mouse pointer in Veency prefs,
then try the same apps again to see if you can click there. BTstack Mouse
mostly re-uses code from Veency.

This corrected the issue, but the mouse cursor is still appears behind certain
applications or pop-ups. I'm using Display Out and it will sometimes cause the
cursor to not show up when it is showing up on the iPhone screen. I'm not sure
what the difference is for these applications but:

- menus/pop-up notifications = behind on both
- applications/games = behind just on the Display Out

For testing the menus I've used Jump Desktop and for Games I used Tiny Wings or
Angry Birds.

(p.s. - I can throw this into a different issue if you want to keep these
logged differently. I'm used to testing software so I know everyone likes to
organize their issues a specific way, heh.)

Oh, and I'm loving the btstack keyboard/mouse combo (with mirroring via Display
Out)! It's a 3rd desktop for me at work and helps keep my sanity.

I spoke too soon... It works for Jump Desktop menu clicks(cursor behind the
menu), but doesn't work for Words with Friends(cursor on top of the menu).

Hi Ethan. a) I've fixed clicking a bit a while ago. does it work now for you?
b) did you see BTC Mouse & Trackpad? It's superior :)
