Mouse click does not work outside of springboard

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. From springboard, enter Safari or Settings
2. Cannot click
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it to select what I click on, as if I am touching it, but that does 
not happen.  When I try to scroll by clicking and throwing, it only 
occasionally works.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iPod Touch 3rd gen, iOS 4.1, not sure what version, was downloaded from Cydia 
on 5/13/11

Please provide any additional information below.
Not very good at going into the documents of my iPod, I'm really hoping this is 
something I can fix without OpenSSH and the like.  I'm liable to break 
something if I tried that.  Please help, thanks
