Hi Moustafa. I got all your mails/issues/etc.
How do you go back in Keynote? Didn't buy a copy of Keynote yet, as I don't
have any cables to connect iPhone or iPad to projector.
You can assign middle and right clicks to actions with Activator preferences. I
just don't know what actions would help.

Hello,
I tried all the settings in activator and it doesn't seem to work. I guess
nothing can work because to move one slide back in keynote you have to do a
slide gesture of some sort.
BTW you can use keynote without a projector, the presentation will be
fullscreen on your iPad and you can view it as you would on a projector. If you
connect a projector your screen goes black and the picture is sent to the
projector instead.

I also didn't see a "slide left" gesture as activator actions. I've even asked
the author of Activator, but he's as busy as everybody else .. :)
Let's see, maybe I can make a Mouse pro, or a Presenter app to control Keynote
via a Bluetooth device.

That would be INCREDIBLE!! Especially if you can make it an iPhone app for
example which would be easier than trying to use a hardware device. If you can
make an iPhone Presenter app that can control presentations in Keynote (maybe
using the iPhone volume buttons?) I gurantee you will become my personal hero
and I will dedicate my life to building you a statue :) You have no idea how
many people are dying for this!! The whole business world is begging apple for
it! If such an app is made I guess it would be relatively easy to port it to
work with any bluetooth mouse instead of the iPhone! Thanks!!!!

Keeping in mind that our presentation is running on the iPad of course :)

You want an app on the iPhone that controls Keynote on the iPad? Ok, I guess I
can see the benefit of that. (and no need for the statue :) thanks)
I think I'll try to see, if I can just provide the slide left gesture and sell
it for a buck or two. (that's the help the customer although not particularly
elegant)
For presentations on the Mac, I was happy with the Logitech presenter
(http://www.amazon.de/Logitech-Cordless-Presenter-2-4-GHz/dp/B0007NDPP2) but
that comes with an USB plug. :)

I'd be more than willing to buy it!! But if I were you I'd give the user the
choice of using the volume buttons as well as using slide gestures (ala Apple's
Keynote Remote app), its much easier than having to slide your finger on the
iPhone screen while standing infront of a crowd giving a presentation. You
could keep adding features to this app in the future (like seeing slides on
your phone, seeing presentation notes) and it would sell big! Looking forward
to it!

Just bought Keynote. Quick follow up: do you get slide notes on the iPad when
presentation is on main screen? 'cause having those on the iPhone while
controlling the presentation would rock :) and I supervised a similar term
project maybe in 2004.

Nope, as soon as you connect iPad to a projector the iPad screen goes black,
all you see is two white arrows (move forward and move back).
However, if you press any part of the ipad screen you get a cool looking red
laser pointer on the main screen (not the ipad screen) and you can move your
finger around the ipad and watch the laser pointer move across the screen. if
you can do something were the user can press and move their finger across the
iphone screen and get the same effect i guess that would rock too! :)

IF you are running keynote on ipad _without_ the projector you can test and see
this laser pointer for yourself, in that case if you press and hold the pointer
will show on the ipad screen.

Thanks for the hint. Yes, the laser pointer simulation is cute. I'll try to see
if I can make a little "LeftSwipe" action as everything else will take too much
time, and, even worse, distract from other projects.

However, if you run "display out" (jail broken app) -it mirrors you screen so
when you run your keynote it fills your screen, but also mirrors it on
projector. Now you can actually look at your ipad while presenting and not
have to look at black screen.
In theory then you can run it with your BT mouse.
Agreed - iPhone app as remote for iPad keynote - priceless!!! Vol button
control awesome idea

matthias - how's that app coming. I'd pay $10 for it, maybe more.

Hey guys - have just posted this in an attempt to find someone to create a
remote / clicker solution for Keynote on the iPad:
http://gnatgnat.com/2010/11/ipad-keynote-remote-a-proposal-part-1/
Don't know if this great conversation above actually inspired any solution? If
not, consider this a re-ignition :-)

2 years later, but problem solved: BTC Mouse & Trackpad comes with a
Presentation Mode that swipes left and right on mouse left/right.
