BTstack not working with Motorola Droid 2.2 and Wifi IPad 3.2.1 #74

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Downloaded BTstack and disabled Apple bluetooth. The IPad and Droid pair
but will not connect.
2. Attempted to restart both devices and still no luck
3. Reinstalled BTstack and still not working.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is to be able to use the GPS from the Droid on the IPad
device for better navigation on the road. The two devices are pairing with
each other but says no connection.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
BTstack 1.5-25900
Motorola Droid 2.2 Kernel v. 2.6.32.9 Rooted with froyo

Please provide any additional information below.

Very new to this so any guidance would be appreciated.

That's not a bug. BTstack GPS allows to use an external Bluetooth GPS that
sends NMEA data over an RFCOMM/SPP (as described on its Cydia page).

In order to use the GPS of your Droid with BTstack GPS on the iPad, you also
need to find a tool on the Droid that makes it look like BT GPS. I don't know
Anroid, but here's a similar tool for Symbian:
