Same problem on Ipod Touch 3G.
Version 1.4 of BTstack GPS, officially purchased, was working regularly on
firmware 3.1.2 but, few days ago, everything stopped at the message "Activating
BTstack".
I made these attempts without solve the problem:
-Upgraded BTstack GPS to version 1.5,
-Reinstall Btstack GPS,
-Upgraded Ipod Touch to IOS 4.0.1,
-Reinstalled Mobile Substrate.
I noticed malfunction of native bluetooth which give "Bluetooth not available"
message. This problem doesn't occur if BTstack GPS is uninstalled.

did you try BTstack GPS after a reboot? (which is necessary during installing
iOS 4.0)
after a reboot, does native Bluetooth work? if yes, disable it and try BTstack
GPS

Yes, I've tried few times a reboot but nothing new happens.
After this native Bluetooth is always on "Not available" if BTstack GPS is
installed.

I've added some code to try "harder" on start up. Please try with the latest
BTstack 0.2-975 update.
