Hey Michel, waiting for your availability for meeting this week around lunch time. Let me know...

gbe999 commented 10 years ago

Michel, some ideas I was discussing with Danilo: 1) Can we also have a background map view when searching for places in screen #5? We would have a list view and a map view for search results. When you select a place in the list, it would show in the map. 2) we need a quick access button to "My own stamps" or "manage my stamps" 3) We found some restaurants' categories in google maps (Japanese, sea food, etc.). Maybe we can use this info for filter and search functions. 4) we maybe should have a small banner in the app to show how many stamps you have used, how many stamps are left and other stats about stamp usage to create the scarcity/gamification impression.

micheldoumit commented 10 years ago

1) Currently when the user chooses a place he goes to the Place View #9 and there is a map there. Are you suggesting to have a other option of place selection on the map ? Like instead of the list he sees the pins on a map and than click on the pin ? This can be hard when there is places that are near each.

2) Ok

3) I just double checked, Google has a list of possible place types that are "filterable" by their integration https://developers.google.com/places/documentation/supported_types

They may have the information but don't expose to do a app integration.

Anyway, tell me the flow you did to see 'sushi', I can try something different.

4) This is on the "My profile" page which is the same for the friend's profile page #7. We can try to add that on home screen, we are trying to fit a lot of things on the home screen, we need to see if the user experience is not compromised, the new apps are very minimalistic. Check foursquare for example. Maybe we should focus on the things the user will do most to be easy for him and the rest he can leave on the menu or something.

dglmartins commented 10 years ago

1) We are talking about a half screen map view, as in the home screen. By default, the map would show the first place on the list (the closest match). If you click on the another place on the list, the map goes there. This is to ensure the user is funding the right place without having to leave the search page everytime. 3) the flow is this: if you search for a place on Google maps, it shows up on the map with a bubble above the pin. On this bubble, there is a clickable link which says more info. On that page, there is a line info which mentions the type of restaurant (Japanese, fine dining, seafood, etc) 5) we need to think of a way to constantly remind users of the fact they have stamps remaining and also to continuously point out scarcity. Not sure how, maybe the designer can help with this. Cheers,

1) On the place search page #5, once the user clicks in any place he goes direcly to the place details view , what would he see the place inside the map in the place search page ? Maybe we should discuss this in a call/meeting, I think I'm not getting the point

3) I was not able to find this buttons. See my screenshot. Where should I click ? screen shot 2014-03-19 at 5 55 23 pm

5) I think she can to

dglmartins commented 10 years ago

1) Stamping vs. Wishlisting: Please give this some thought. I've thought a lot about this and I know that Guiga at this point disagrees with the following thought, but I am more and more convinced that we should only allow places that have been stampd to be wishlisted. The first reason is to drive the understanding of what a stamp is: someone's top suggestions, which should be trusted and wishlisted. Having this link will provide a deeper understanding of the purpose of a stamp to users. Also, I think we are pushing for wishlisting any place because we are afraid that the stamp concept won't catch on, trying to maximize our functional offering to maximize our chances of success. This in my mind sounds fair ay first, but at the same time, I think it may defeat the purpose, confusing our MVP tests, the main one of which is to test our Stamp proposition, not our wishlist proposition. Therefore, I am pro any function that supports the stamp function, (like wishlisting a stampd place) but not one that potentially competes with it. I think adding wishlisting for any place can be a pivot if people don't engage with the concept of stamping, if we think there is value in doing so. Even then, I believe a stamp concept is much more defensible than a wish list concept. Think about it, we can discuss later, but i feel high conviction about this, need strong arguments against it to change my mind.

2) Welcome Page: The above being said, I think we definitely need a welcome page that walks a user through the allocation of the first stamp and key concepts. The way I envision it, at first launch of the app the user sees a page that says something like: "Welcome to Stampdit! Stampdit allows you to give your personal stamp of approval to places and share with friends, who can benefit from knowing and trying out your most trusted places, like hotels or restaurants. You can also benefit from their Stamps! We will walk you through your fist Stamp. Let's get started!" The app could then force a user to allocate the first Stamp, explaining the fact that the user only has a limited amount of stamps and suggesting a hotel or restaurant for the first stamp. Something like: "Why not start by Stamping your favorite local restaurant or your favorite vacation hotel/resort? It's very simple! Don't forget, you only start with 10 stamps, so choose wisely!" Finally it can end with something like: "Congrats, you've Stampdit!! See a friend's Stamp that you might like? Add it to your wishlist! Also, remember Stampdit is a brand new concept, inviting your friends to become Stampers will help ensure you and your friends always choose the best places!"

For me we either have an unrestricted wishlist (any place) or we remove it from the MVP altogether.

I think a restricted wishlist actually strengthens the stamp concept from a user's perspective (a part of which is to influence your friends) and gives us metrics of how much one single stamp can drive behavior, enhancing the quality of test of hypothesis of the stamp proposition out of the MVP...

It is the SAME APP. Did they call it stamped because they also had the stamp of approval concept as well? Or is it more like common social endorsement and the name is a coincidence?
