micheleg / dash-to-dock

A dock for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash out of the overview transforming it in a dock for an easier launching of applications and a faster switching between windows and desktops.

Right clicking the Microsoft Teams icon when Teams is running freezes the GUI #1246

Open roman-fi opened 4 years ago

roman-fi commented 4 years ago

Does not happen with any other application that I have noticed, nor did it happen before - could be connected to the gnome update. When right clicking the Teams icon in the dash-to-dock panel, the right click is not executed (no right-click menu) and the GUI freezes.

Same thing with teamviewer. (as I found out half hour ago). Tho in my case opening app with left click freezes UI also.

Found out that when opening teams there is two dots on dash-to-dock (showing that there is two instances open even when there is only one open connection).

Running killall -3 gnome-shell fixes this on either

a) after opening teams and before clicking teams icon b) on another instance (with ctrl+alt+f3) and coming back to original instance

Command also removes two dots on dash-to-dock.

I'm running pop_os 20.04 (basically ubuntu 20.04 with minor improvements) and GNOME Shell 3.36.2. This happens on two machines now. Running as VM and on bare metal.

I confirm everything @Racle says

Same here, but my problem apps have been Firefox and GitKraken. Only seems to happen after these have been running for a long time (several hours), but will occur when I left click on the icon in the dock to switch to one of these apps. Leaves the mouse still movable, but the GUI completely frozen. Been using SysRq + K to kill and re-login.
