micheleg / dash-to-dock

A dock for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash out of the overview transforming it in a dock for an easier launching of applications and a faster switching between windows and desktops.

[Possible bug] Invisible layer #2081

Sorry I don't have much knowledge with gnome shell.

Sometimes I can't click on things in the lower part of a window. Coincidentally this lower part has the same height as the dock (the dock is hidden), but it extends from end to end horizontally.

This keeps until I restart the shell (alt + F2 then r).

I'm seeing the same

If I set "Dodge windows" to off then I can resize a window by clicking on the bottom border

If it's set to on and the dock is visible I am unable to click on the bottom border

It's like "Panel mode" is always on

I'm seeing the same issue and can explain a bit more in depth.

To reproduce the error:

  1. enable auto hide function and dodge only focused windows
  2. set the maximum width of the dock to 90% (default), disable panel mode
  3. place a window (for example the settings dialog) far away from the dock but on the bottom edge of the screen

Expectation: I can click on any part of the window; the dock is visible because the window is not overlapping it.

Current behaviour: The dock is visible only next to the window but it has a container that takes 90% of the screen and is above all other windows. Hence I cannot click on the window on this position.

Here is a screenshot when highlighting the area of the container with looking glass: image
