Hi, sorry for the late reply. What which extension and gnome versions are you experiencing the issue?
I'm also wondering if it is related to #298. Do you experience similar problems with full-screen apps?
I have the most recent version from the gnome extension website and have had this issue on 3.18 and 3.20. With all other extensions disabled the issue occurs. The issues may or may not be related, but I have yet to test if that glitch occurs for me.

This occurs with all applications inconsistently, but most often with chrome/chromium. VLC atom and Firefox seem to have it happen a lot as well. This could be inaccurate based on what I use the most.
To reproduce this with the most consistent results restart shell on empty work-space then open chrome/chromium so that it is maximized and rapidly drag it to one or the other side. This should cause this glitch to occur so when you try to make the dock appear it does not about one out 8 times.
