micheleg / dash-to-dock

A dock for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash out of the overview transforming it in a dock for an easier launching of applications and a faster switching between windows and desktops.

[request] Show running applications in other workspaces with a different indicator #742

Currently, there's the option to either "Isolate workspaces" or not when showing running applications. I would like to see something in between. Where applications in other workspaces are still shown but with a different indicator. The Unity dock had a way of showing running applications that aren't in the current workspace with a different indicator. Here's a picture from a PC World article showing that the "Software Updater" has a white filled triangle, while Firefox and Nautilus have something resembling an arrow. move-window-between-workspaces-100572259-orig

I support this. The difference could even be a different indicator color for apps in other workspaces.
