top bar dynamic transparency flickers between transparent and solid when browing through menus when using wayland #857

Version: 64 gnome-shell: 3.30.2

This was originally filed against gnome-shell at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=789060

When browsing through the menu of a non-maximized window, the top bar flickers. It quickly changes between solid and translucent.

This issue only happens when running GNOME on Wayland. The bug in gnome-shell has been fixed in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/commit/d21b276c077ab3117edde4da8b992648bd643cc5 but this issue can still be triggered if the dash-to-dock extension is active and the Opacity is set to either Dynamic or Adaptive.
