some questions/remarks:

• perhaps a more visible reference to the wiki/help page within the app for beginners
• a new action to delete all the tree-leaves below or above a person. Nice to have if you want to extract only a small subtree
• what does the darker grey background indicates?
• what is that counter - see picture

Yes, that's possible and it could be useful.

I understand the idea of "extract a small subtree", but it seems to me a function perhaps too specific at the moment. And then anyway I wouldn't do it by deleting branches from the diagram, because that could leave people disconnected on the fringes.

what does the darker grey background indicates?

It indicates an in-law (not blood-related) relative.

what is that counter

It's the tree ID.

great, didn't expected such quick response -thanks. I walked through diagram by changeing focus on different persons such that the grey intensity also changed. Seems to be arbitrary on first sight.
Seems not to work correctly with foster relations. But thats ok with me.
