This is not necessarily and issue but I wasn't sure how to reach out to the contributors here...

Is it possible to sign this data source?

Grafana has an enterprise version of this plugin that they sell for money. If they were to sign this plugin for free public use they would not sell anymore licenses. You can sign this plugin for yourself - check the grafana documentation on plugins.
