Nsclient 0.5.2.35 setup ended prematurely #680

Issue and Steps to Reproduce

I´m trying ncpa 0.5.2.35 on Windows Server 2016 and I am receiving the same error of another colleague. NSclient ++ (x64) Setup Wizard ended prematurely. I configured registry key for verbose log of windows installer using microsoft official document (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/223300/how-to-enable-windows-installer-logging) When I am trying install ncpa agent,the attached file is generated on %temp% folder on this server MSI16608.LOG. I used some advanced trobleshooting tools as procmon64.exe and procexp64.exe and I founded some result messages as NAME NOT FOUND, BUFFER OVERFLOW, but I don´t understand what represent this messages

PLEASE PROVIDE COMMAND HERE

msiexec.exe /i NSCP-0.5.2.35-x64.msi

Expected Behavior

Resolve error during setup nscp 0.5.2.35 installation

Actual Behavior

Failed install nscp-0.5.2.35-x64.msi

The first thing that mickem would ask you to do is see if it still happens under the more recent releases: https://github.com/mickem/nscp/releases/tag/0.5.2.41

I just installed 5.2.41 on Windows 2016 with no issue. I was running 4.4.23 First I saved a few files that I placed and then uninstalled nsclient 4.4.23 deleted the nsclient++ folder install 5.2.41
copied the files back in to the nsclient++ folders restart-service nscp

All checks good

Did you have an older version of the NSclient installed? if so uninstall that first. To be on the safe side restart the server I found I did not have to restart. But since you have an issue I would give that a try
