shouldn't always say "No checkins here yet, be the first!" and "get cooler friends"

2-parter!

On venues without Mayors it says, "No checkins here yet, be the first!"
If you gotta keep the message, it should be changed to "check-ins" :)
but also, if there have been check-ins, just not recently, it should say
something to the effect of "no check-ins here recently, be the first!"

Also, when there is a server problem retrieving the friends list, it will
say "get cooler friends"-- perhaps check if there was a server problem or
only show that when the friends list is properly populated but empty (for
first-time users, etc)

Thanks for the feedback, both items will be updated in the next release. For 
the second point, when the user 
has no friends (as will often be the case for new users), we'll show a screen 
with a button which links to the find 
friends activity. This should make it easier for the user to start adding 
friends right away.

Marking this as closed, will be in next version.
