Feature request: option to disable unnecessary base64 cursor encoding in connections #613

I agree with using base64 encoding for connection cursors by default, but I'd like to be able to turn it off in my own apps, because

base64 encoding makes the cursors longer
it would be easier to debug things if I see the actual values in the cursors, like ["Edwards","Andy",32] (once my PR has been merged)
