Just a quick addendum: if this is just a settings issue with google play and not a known compatibility problem, all the better! Happy to be a guinea pig and try to manually install an apk if there are any unknown compatibility parameters as I have access to the device in question.
Thanks,
I think it's as simple as releasing a new build with the new android 12 SDK.
In the meantime I think the apk should install

I just came here with the same question re: Onyx Boox Note Air 2 and can confirm that installing v2.9 via the APK works fine. Thanks!
I just installed from APK using version 3.0b for a boox tablet and works fine.
On the Onyx Boox Note Air 2 Zoo shows up with a "this device is not supported" message in the google play store.
I was under the impression that this device runs a modified Android 11 OS and I know Zoo works fine on older Onyx Boox devices like the Max 1 and 2, so I'm not sure why this is the case. Zoo is not the only app to have this issue, though the vast majority of android apps I have checked seem to be available. The ZotEz2 app does seem to work, though I would vastly prefer to use Zoo if possible.

I'm no expert Kotlin dev but happy to pitch in and try to submit a PR if the fix is simple and easy to delegate. The maintainers of this project are unsung heroes of research as far as I'm concerned.
