"An adhesion phenotype where a microbe has the ability to a substrate in the environment or in a host, either directly or indirectly. "
Should read:
"An adhesion phenotype where a microbe has the ability to attach to a substrate in the environment or in a host, either directly or indirectly."
Further, could indirect adhesion be clarified in a comment on this and related classes?
Fixed mistake in the definition.
I think that the 'presence of adhesion' would be one part of an attached lifestyle phenotype. Is that how you are thinking about it?
