I may have gone a little overboard with my "revision." The only thing I thought was inaccurate was the name of the Cloudflare feature I ended up using for the redirects. It wasn't "Page Rules" (although that is what you and I tested out during our meeting); it was "Single Redirects".
The reason I switched to the latter is that I saw this in the Cloudflare docs:
