The NMDC Newsletter signup form contains a reference to its former maintainer.

I recommend updating the form so it contains a reference to its current maintainer instead.

@eecavanna How did you get to this form? When I enter an email into the newsletter sign up it doesn't bring this form up for me

Hi @jkelliher-github, hmm I don't remember. I will look into it and report back. I'll reassign this ticket to myself while I'm doing that, so the assignee reflects "whose court the ball is in."

Update: The only place I'm seeing that URL right now (other than in this GitHub Issue) is in a Google Docs document entitled "Bitly URL links", in the [8] Outreach ... > [1] NMDC Website folder. I don't know if that provides any clues about where I might have come across this link in daily usage (I don't think that Google Docs document is where I originally came across it).

OK, I confirmed this URL is where a Bitly link (i.e. https://bit.ly/Microbiome-Standard) currently points. I wonder whether that Bitly link appears on the website. I'll check.

Hi @jkelliher-github, after having looked on GitHub, on Google Drive, and at previous newsletter editions in my email inbox, I have no idea how I got to that page in the first place. I'll reassign this issue to you because I think the information isn't accurate on the web page anymore and I think you have access to change that. At the same time, I don't consider this a high priority at all since I don't know how someone would ever see that web page (unless its URL or that Bitly link is floating around on the Internet somewhere).
