Sort sample list #545

(Logging for @SamuelPurvine) Feature request to allow for sorting of the samples list. This needs to be fleshed out more to understand requirements. But jotting this here so that it's captured and can be discuss for prioritization in the future. FYI @ssarrafan.

@pvangay and @SamuelPurvine can we include this in the November sprint to do the documentation/requirements part?
