This post:

…is shown in the micro.blog macOS app (v1.9.1) and the Web app without line endings and so gets collapsed to:

We have a friend named Mark, whose humor is often a lark. Sometimes it causes trouble, but rarely does it double. I like it much better than snark. #mbnov
(hat tip to @Limericking, who provided my inspiration with their Wednesday tweet)

It gets cross-posted correctly to Twitter: https://twitter.com/macgreg/status/1190642948599402497

It shows collapsed in the Posts list view of the macOS app v1.9.1, but it shows correctly in the drill down (i.e. double click on the post in the list):

Seems something a bit strange is going on with the handling of line endings.

I think this is probably the fault of Markdown, which ignores newlines unless the line ends in two spaces (or is two newlines in a row, a.k.a. a new paragraph).

I’m not sure why it crossposted to Twitter correctly, but the fact it showed up as a single line in both the Timeline and on your blog smells like Markdown to me.
