u-listen-of/Scrobble draft property #11

The u-listen-of, aka a Scrobble https://indieweb.org/scrobble, is published by the Post Kinds plugin and consumed by the Semantic Linkbacks plugin for WordPress.

In below, my site consumed listen-of from several different sites.

It should at least be added as experimental

EdwardHinkle commented 6 years ago

I currently publish u-listen-of on eddiehinkle.com

We have 2+ publishers for u-listen-of (more listed on https://indieweb.org/scrobble#IndieWeb_Examples) and at least 1 consumer, so this can be added as a proposed property.

I propose adding:

u-listen-of - indicates this h-entry is a scrobble (or listen) of another URL. The value can be a URL or an h-cite. See https://indieweb.org/scrobble for examples in the wild.

It may meet the standard of draft property, depending if this line in change control means it requires 2 or more consumers, since "other sites" is plural:

... and (other sites) consuming them, interoperably.

Would like to raise the question of whether we should elaborate on what the URL of a listen post should be? For example, if I'm listening to a song, the URL might be the discogs page for the song, not necessarily the actual media file.

There is also the alternative of switching to p-listen-of, where the value would reflect the title of the thing you were listening to.
