System UI Unresponsive & Soft Reboot #1454

Describe the bug Browsing into Settings, particularly Devlopers Options, is very sluggish. Has caused the System UI to become unresponsive and soft reboot. The 20210412 build seems particularly worse than the initial 20210404 build, much more unstable. See also bug report at LineageOS. Device maintainer thinks it's related to the MicroG build.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Browse Settings
  2. Go to Developers Options
  3. Settings/UI is very slow, almost like the settings have not been indexed

Expected behavior System UI and Settings should not be sluggish and cause a soft reboot.

Another bugreport+logcat. It seems like what's happening is the UI becomes unresponsive and dies, and does not start back up. Had to reboot.

Another bugreport+logcat. UI came back to life during the bugreport but then died when bugreport completed.

Seems to be better. Same usage pattern as before, but not experiencing the lockups. Will report back if I run into the issues again. Thanks for following up.

Update: had a System UI crash, but it seemed to recovered; I was able to use the phone unlike before. Then later when I tried to collect adb logcat and bugreport, it seemed to have locked up again. Hopefully some mo useful data was captured.

Just updated to 18.1-20210622-microG-shamu, and UI locked up within 10 minutes.
