API endpoints #25

Set in place the API endpoints with their attached functionalities (which should have been already implemented).

Based on the outcome of the go-kit PoC (https://github.com/microlib/usermanager/issues/24), this ticket (or most of it) could be implemented directly via go-kit. This is to be revisited once the above mentioned ticket has been completed.
