I intend to submit ChatGPT Omnibox btw (so please don't think I am supporting competitors only) but only after I know how to correct these errors so rejections no longer occur
Hey @adamlui, could you please confirm was your concern resolved?
Also, you can review our developer policies for your guidance.
Sup @ManikanthMSFT I can confirm it is not resolved since I have not re-submitted unless i know specifically how to fix the issues, thanks
@ManikanthMSFT can you find out if the issue is the icon or the name?
@adamlui, we are looking into this and will let you know as soon as we have an update.
@adamlui we got an update from our team stating the issue was identified in both the name and the icon.
If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
I need to know what exactly is the issue. Can you please show them my links above showing approved extensions with icons that are nearly identical to OpenAI, also why my ChatGPT Widescreen name is approved, but not when appending Omnibox @ManikanthMSFT please re-open this unresolved issue sir
When you say reach out did you mean you want me to open a new issue? (Because the contents will be identical to this one)
Hey @adamlui, we got a note from our team stating "It appears that the developer is not affiliated with the official Brave search engine (The browser that puts you first | Brave), which may lead to confusion for users.".
So we request you to please review and proceed further. Also, can we continue our conversation on a single query insted of responding om both open queries?
Sure @ManikanthMSFT, can you seek clarification from them w/ this response:
"How come I have to be affiliated with Brave for confusion to be avoided, isn't that what the listing's big by line's for? Can you very precisely give an example of how this extension by Adam Lui not Brave could lead to confusion and what it means exactly?
Also why did I not have to be affiliated with OpenAI to release approved ChatGPT Infinity + ChatGPT Widescreen by Adam Lui not OpenAI but I do for Brave Omnibox
Next can you explain why the icon is confusing when it is not any more similar than the 4 examples I provided. Also can you confirm re-colorizing will fix or not.
Lastly please give an example of a name for this useful add-on (that was rightly deemed not confusing by both Chrome and Firefox teams by approval already) so I can finally proceed with a submission that will certify so Edge Store users can similarly benefit from an enhanced browser experience thus even potentially recommend Edge for more people to enjoy (instead of using Chrome Store version thus will psychologically associate awesomeness w/ Chrome not Edge ecosystem)"
I am using this form instead of Support Ticket because the support bot directs to this link to receive support. The issue pertains to two extensions
Brave Ominbox (Product ID: fd95e618-417e-4f57-8ee6-3121fefe8276)
This submission has been rejected twice now with the same reason:
It is unclear what exactly is the problem that needs correcting. Originally, app icon was simply the Brave logo (both Chrome and Firefox teams approved no problem) but just for Edge team, I added a magnifying glass, yet it got rejected again.
Here are just 4 examples of many approved Edge add-ons that have icons which are simply the OpenAI logo with slight modification:
If the icon being too similar is not the reason then, and the name is the issue, here is an example Edge add-on (by me) where it follows the similar structure of platform followed by utility: ChatGPT Widescreen
If the name or icon are not the issue, then I need to know exactly how this is true: "The product, including its listing, does not accurately represent the product and may mislead users." In what way does Brave Omnibox not accurately represent user types @brave in Edge omnibox (as described in listing detail) to get results from Brave?
Perplexity Omnibox (Product ID: 2a3649d1-2768-4470-b401-9d20f4064473)
This submission has been rejected twice now with the same reason:
...with the latest rejection including a strange new reason (even though nothing about description meta changed):
Again, it is unclear how to correct the errors. Originally, app icon was simply the Perplexity.ai logo (Chrome team approved no problem) but just for Edge team, I added a magnifying glass, yet it got rejected again.
Again, here are (same as above) 4 examples of many approved Edge add-ons that have icons which are simply the OpenAI logo with slight modification:
If the icon being too similar is not the reason then, and the name is the issue, here again is an example Edge add-on (by me) where it follows the similar structure of platform followed by utility: ChatGPT Widescreen
If the name or icon are not the issue, then I need to know exactly how this is true: "The product, including its listing, does not accurately represent the product and may mislead users." In what way does Perplexity Omnibox not accurately represent user types @perplexity in Edge omnibox (as described in listing detail) to get results from Perplexity?
Also for 1.1.5, why did Brave Omnibox not get this error, when its description...
... is not only shorter, but actually equally informative on exactly what extension does as Perplexity Omnibox's:
Do you see, with unclear/contradictory warnings the author in good standing with other published items does not know how to proceed?
