Hi @djee-ms, do you have any idea about the issue? Does it relate to #157? Thanks!
Hi @k-dunc and @shuhaoy . It may well be related to #157 -- echo cancellation is still not on by default (or configurable) in the latest release, 2.0.2. But we also just discovered a different issue that sounds very much like an echo, but has a different cause. I'll describe it here in case it helps.
We generally have connections between a HoloLens and a PC. We found that we got very loud echo-like feedback on HL2, but only when connected to specific PCs, Surface Pros mainly. The same software connected to a different type of PC device did not exhibit the same problem. We found that disabling "audio enhancements" for the PC microphone completely eliminated the problem.
You can find this setting in Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Recording tab. Choose your microphone, then Properties -> Advanced. You may have a section here labelled "Signal Enhancements". If so, deselect the "Enable audio enhancements" box and click Apply.
Hi there,
We're finding that we're getting audio feedback / echo on the HoloLens 2. What is happening, is any audio coming through the HL speakers, almost seems like it's being picked up by the HL microphone and all of a sudden we have this mess of noise (e.g., just like holding a microphone in front of a speaker). The audio sounds fine on the PC, but not on the HL2.
We're using WebRTC version 2.0.2, and Unity version 2019.4.26f1.
