Hello @las-nsc thank you for the Speech bug submission! I am investigating this issue and will assign it to the correct person when I am done.
@elbuhofantasma any update on this? Were you able to reproduce the issue?
I have a similar issue. Already keeping the settings to IsGlobal = false, Requires Focus = true & Speech Command = Select, doesn't execute the Button.
Same happens when checking out the eyegaze_demo from MRTK, the Buttons won't react to the focus & speech command although gaze is working and is focused on the button.
This issue has been marked as stale by an automated process because it has not had any recent activity. It will be automatically closed in 30 days if no further activity occurs. If this is still an issue please add a new comment with more recent details and repro steps.
We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.
Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.
Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.
Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all-new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visit https://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
Describe the bug
Global Speech commands on interactables don't appear to work without focus, even when
Requires Focus = false
.Also, the existing (unchanged) Interactable Speech handlers which do require focus do not work on the HL1 & HL2 devices using either the gaze or hand pointer.
To reproduce
I copied the Interactable Speech Handler buttons in the SpeechInputExamples scene, and switched the speech options to the following:
IsGlobal = true
,Requires Focus = false
one button usesOpen
the otherClose
(I also tried withIsGlobal = false
, no change) SpeechInputExamples.zipExpected behavior
Saying 'Open' and 'Close' should visibly activate the respective buttons below, even when it isn't focused.
Saying 'Select' while pointing at each of the buttons above should visibly activate them on the HL1 & HL2 devices.
