I found that the app binary supported in the emulator is x86, not x64. I was able to search my personal project 'Type In Space' in the emulator and it is x86 version that I published for HL1. I can build and publish x86/HL1 version of the MRTK Examples Hub without Eye Tracking examples.
FYI @reburkea
I can build and publish x86/HL1 version of the MRTK Examples Hub without Eye Tracking examples.
Was the developer in question trying to use eye tracking in the emulator?
They didn't specify. They were trying to simply install and run the MRTK Examples Hub.

I am wondering if that is true for HL2 emulator. I think the HL2 emulator itself is x64. @cre8ivepark
Yes, but the apps displayed in the emulator are all x86 HL1 apps including Fragments and my apps. I never created x64 apps.
@polar-kev I verified that the current content displayed in the Store is for HoloLens 1st gen (x86) It shows HL1 apps such as Holo Tour, Fragments, etc, including x86 version of my personal app. The store endpoint for the HL2 emulator needs to be properly updated. Verified with the latest version of HL2 emulator as well. (10.0.20348.1018)
These are all HL1 apps.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.
Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all-new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visit https://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
It was recently reported that the Example Hub only supports ARM--a developer was unable to install the Example Hub through the emulator (x64) store.
This issue is tracking work underway to bring Example Hub support to the emulator
To reproduce
Expected behavior
User can find and download the MRTK Example Hub onto the HoloLens emulator through the emulator store.
