BoundsControl activated makes eye tracking work only if headset inside bounding box - Hololens 2 Fundamentals tutorials #10677

Overview

Hi,

For the "Enable eye-tracking and voice commands for objects on the HoloLens 2", the eye tracking stops working after the BoundsControl is activated through the dynamic menu.

Eye tracking was set up following this tutorial: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/use-eye-tracking-voice-commands/6-3-exercise-eye-tracking

Bounds Control was previously set up following this tutorial: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/get-started-with-object-interaction/5-7-exercise-manipulate-3d-objects-with-bounds-control

Eye tracking works fine at the beginning but as soon as I tap on the "BoundsControl_Enable", eye tracking stops working. Then, when I tap on the BoundsControl_Disable" button, it does not work unless I place myself or the head set inside what used to be the Bounding box. Then, it works. A mystery how to make it work when I am outside of such Bounding box after the mentioned procedure. Best, Daniel

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visithttps://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
