A straight forward setup of OpenVR/SteamVR with MRTK #8634

Describe the issue

A clear and concise what the issue I've been messing around with MRTK to get it to play ball with SteamVR, including Input and interactions with the UI content but to no avail. There's little documentation about a straightforward tutorial from what I've seen.

How in the blazes do I do this?

I'm aiming to use unity 2019.3.x or unity 2020

Any help would be appreciated, thanks~

I've had luck following the build/deploy standalone using these instructions:

https://microsoft.github.io/MixedRealityToolkit-Unity/Documentation/BuildAndDeploy.html#building-and-deploying-mrtk-to-a-windows-mixed-reality-headset

What issues/errors are you running into?

Hoii,It seems there’s some compatibility issues with OpenXR/OpenVR and unity 2020, downgrading to 2019 and performing steps similar to the link you sent seems to have worked.Ideally, there should be a tutorial or pre-configured layouts for steamvr/openxr

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visithttps://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
