This could be more user error/expectation than bug. You can grab a NearMenu by pinching them and moving them, which does work "from the front" as it were. However, a more natural gesture is to reach out and grab them like you might grab a floating piece of paper, with your thumb on the front side and index finger on the back.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.
Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all-new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visit https://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
Describe the bug
NearMenus cannot be grabbed and manipulated with a natural hand gesture on HoloLens 2. Attempting to reach out and grab one, with your thumb on the front side and fingers on back side does nothing. Twisting your hand such that your thumb approaches the back of the NearMenu when grabbing does work, however.
To reproduce
Load the NearMenuExamples scene (or add a NearMenu prefab to any MRTK scene). Run it on a HoloLens 2. Attempt to grab/manipulate NearMenu. Rotate hand such top of hand points down and thumb approaches NearMenu from back side and attempt to grab/manipulate NearMenu.
Expected behavior
NearMenus should be grabbable with a natural hand position such that thumb makes contact with the forward-facing plane of the NearMenu.
