Blinking TMP when use ClippingBox #9963

Overview

Clipping Box is not working properly with TMP - Text

Expected behavior

It is expected that TMP - Text don't blink when is entering in the mask.

Actual behavior

TMP - Text is "blinking" when the object is entering in the mask.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a empty GameObject inside a card GameObject on ScrollingObjectCollection scene
  2. Configure the object with the scale 0.005
  3. Add TexMeshPro - Text component to the GameObject
  4. Move the card GameObject in the axis X until the object is out of the mask
  5. Go back the card GameObject to mask moving in the axis X

Happens on MRTK 2.6 as well. Very annoying.

Workaround: hide the TMP for one frame (e.g. move it to a hidden layer).

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visithttps://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.
