This task is looking to improve the map data in the Caribbean region (Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Maarten, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, US Virgin Islands). We will also use all available aerial and street level imagery assets available in OSM. We intend to edit the roads, looking to focus the following:
Alignment
Missing roads geometries/road names
Surface tags
Road classification
Restrictions
Destination information
Additionally, we may edit some other map features such as water bodies, natural features, landuse features, and buildings.
We will be adding/updating (when possible) road geometry, names, directionality, road classification, restrictions, destinations, and surface type (we will only be adding paved or unpaved). The team will follow OSM guidelines for adding and tagging each.
We will use the validator in the JOSM tool to look for errors, following the wiki as well as the LearnOSM guidelines. We will also process a number of Atlas Checks in the region.
