I recommend WizTree: https://diskanalyzer.com/, it's very very fast.
I agree! I'd actually love it to be part of Windows, but I'm good if it's at least a PowerToy. Maybe add it to File Explorer add-ons.

Description of the new feature / enhancement
It would be nice to have a utility to monitor and visual the size of folders.
Scenario when this would be used?
We all have been there where our hard drive indicators get red without us even knowing how it could happen. Then we would have to think or go inside folders one by one to find the possible huge files in deep sub-folders. Using this tool users can save a lot of time and see what is eating their hard drive with just a click of a button.
