Mirror flip monitor for telepromtper displays powertoy #12582

Closed jonespider closed 1 year ago

Description of the new feature / enhancement

A powertoy option that mirror flips one display for use with a monitor in a teleprompter.

Scenario when this would be used?

For people who are regular video call users and presenters (such as teachers/lectures and streamers) that use a teleprompter with an external monitor display.

Supporting information

Nearly all screen configuration drivers and software offer vertical flips and rotations, but nothing offers the horizontal mirror flip to one display required in this setup (some software like multimonitor can flip when screen mirroring a second display but not just mirror flip a single output)

Maybe this could work as an extension to fancyzones rather than a separate PowerToy with a 'mirror flip zone'???

I understand this is a feature useable in Mac OS with various software ([]https://telepromptermirror.com/mirror-flip-screen/) and also can be done in Linux using a 'xrandr –output –reflect-xr' command (I'm an enthusiastic computer user but not a coder so I don't really understand if that command would be useable within Windows) but that there is no option in the Windows environment at present for this group of 'powerusers'

Thanks for reviewing this request.

Thank you for the suggestion! We'll investigate the feasibility for this and set prioritization following our general stability efforts.

yes! I have been looking for this but there's nothing out there can do a full screen mirror on a secondary monitor. ( on windows) I second this request!
