Temporary File Bin #128

If a user can drag and drop a file in corner of a screen to keep a reference to it there to open or copy or drag and drop later, would be very handy.

Check out Unclutter. This actually has 3 things: clipboard manager (apparently MS is working on one, hope it's any good), file bin, and notes. I'm interested in file bin specially.

It should have basic functionality like keyboard navigation, search functionality, preview etc.

Wow, that is a very hand UI concept. I would use it constantly. Tagged for the backlog

Yeah something like this or the NeXTSTEP shelf would be great to have.

This reminds me of #6405

This is a very useful feature. On MacOS, I've used at least three apps that implement this idea:

  1. Dropover: https://dropoverapp.com/

  2. Dropzone: https://aptonic.com/

  3. Yoink: https://eternalstorms.at/yoink/mac/

The concept is simple but the productivity boost is huge. Really hope this type of utility can be added as a powertoy!

I believe implementing a similar feature in PowerToys would be a game-changer for productivity. By the way, there is a great application in Windows called Dropshelf that provides the same feature.

I hope we see good news about this soon.
