Features displayed on the Taskbar #15357

Description of the new feature / enhancement

The expected behaviour of the proposed feature is the following: Small but useful features such as the stop watch, timer and the like should be displayed (on a spot freely selectable) on the taskbar. The expected behaviour also includes handling the stop watch, timer or the like via the mouse - to stop the timer for example.

Scenario when this would be used?

The scenario this would be used is any use case where the user of the PC needs to use the stop watch, timer, ect. for longer periods of time than just a few minutes (e.g. managing time during an online test/exam, implementing the pomodoro technique in one's daily workflow, etc.).

Personally, the mentioned features and similar ones would come handy for me as a power user as I track the time allocated to certain tasks on the PC rather than on an external device. To keep an eye on the stop watch/timer I would not need to allocate extra screen space to the alarm and clock application if there was such a feature in PowerToys.

Right now this sounds like a framework, not a direct ask.

Is the ask you want a timer in the taskbar area? or maybe "I'd like the ability to add a timer arbitrarily on the desktop that is on top of everything and always visible"?

why: Having a framework is different than a single utility.

I'd say a timer in the taskbar area (or something else useful as there is plenty of unused space on the taskbar especially if your using a monitor).

I'd suggest filing a Windows Feedback against the clock app. I don't think this is a feature we'd focus on
