FancyZones update request #19764

Description of the new feature / enhancement

I would love an option that I could toggle on/off that would allow me to switch window placements between zones. For example, Let's say I have my screen with 2 zones, split down the middle. Spotify on the left, Browser on the right. I would like it if I dragged Spotify into the zone on the right, it would switch my Browser window to the left zone, effectively switching them places. Similarly, if I opened a new program and placed it in a zone already containing a program but there was an empty zone available, I'd like it to move that replaced window into the empty zone, rather than have it 'underneath' the new program in the same zone.

I hope this makes sense. Your suite of tools are all absolutely incredible

Scenario when this would be used?

I think it would be useful in lots of scenarios but let's say you have Discord/Teams open in a smaller zone while whatever you're working on is in a large zone taking up most of your screen. Someone calls a conference and you want to switch Teams into the big space on your screen without overlapping your work/leaving an empty zone. You want to just quickly drag Teams into the large zone, which would automatically switch whatever you were working on into the space Teams left behind. I think it would be useful in scenarios where work has changing priorities but you still want to be able to see it all at a glance.

Honestly, the (example?) situation you describe would be much easier with default Windows Snap. Assuming the setting" Show what I can snap more" is on.

Fair enough. I just prefer FanzyZones in every other way and wanted to make it "perfect" for what I want by suggesting this one feature it's missing. I'd rather use FancyZones and just not have that feature then. Windows Snap is limited in comparison so that one thing isn't enough to make me abandon Zones! Thanks for replying though.
