Windows 11 taskbar management #20263

Description of the new feature / enhancement

You know what would be really cool? If PowerToys added basic configuration options for taskbar.

Simple configuration options that were possible on the Windows 10 taskbar are no longer possible on the Windows 11 taskbar, such as:

  1. You can no longer move the taskbar around to other displays. "As a power user with multiple displays, I want to be able to designate the taskbar to a specific non-primary display without having to set that display as a primary , and without having to enable the taskbar on ALL my displays."

Note - there is a tool called ExplorerPatcher which handles some of this, but is buggy at times (especially after system restarts).

  1. You can't resize the taskbar for higher DPI monitors: "As a power user with an 5K and 8K display, I would like to be able to increase the size of the taskbar (icons / fonts) without having to change my Windows % scaling settings as that interferes with other productivity work."

Scenario when this would be used?

This would be used for power users with multiple displays that want to designate the taskbar to a specific display.

I'm surprised Windows11 has been out for so long, and there is still no way to put the taskbar on the left side of the screen. I value my vertical space more than my horizontal space.

Hi! We've identified this issue that best is suited for Windows Feedback Hub. To do this on Windows, WinKey+F will bring it up!
